Frequently asked questions about group therapy:
HOW CAN I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT AND WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
It is easy to book an initial appointment by calling or e-mailing on the address above. You will first need to attend an Initial Assessment (IA). This involves exploring reasons for seeking therapy, personal history, building rapport with the therapist and learning more about what group therapy involves. The sessions are held in Bloomsbury, Central London (5 minutes from Russell Square or Holborn Tube).
WHAT ABOUT CONFIDENTIALITY?
What is said within therapy is confidential and is thus a place where you can disclose your innermost concerns without fear of being judged or without the fear that others will ever know. Confidentiality would only ever be compromised if there was a realistic possibility of serious harm to self or others.
WHAT IF I AM TOO NERVOUS TO TALK IN FRONT OF THE GROUP?
Feelings of nervousness are perfectly normal. You will be encouraged to work at your own pace. Each individual finds their own time and space to become involved.
HOW LONG DOES THE GROUP RUN FOR?
Most of our groups are open ended, meaning you can attend until you feel you no longer need to although we do ask for 4 sessions notice if you are looking to leave. Each group session last 1 hour 20 minutes.
HOW OFTEN MUST I ATTEND?
It is important to attend regularly and in joining the group you do make a commitment to yourself and the other group members. There are periodic breaks throught the year for Xmas/New Year, Easter and Summer.
WHAT WILL IT COST AND WHAT IS THE PAYMENT METHOD?
Each group meeting costs £30 per session, payment is due whether we attend or not although non-attendence tends to be rare. We accept payment by all major debit and credit cards through PayPal or by standing orders from your bank account. We review prices periodically but you will be given one month's notice of any changes.
